Explore the joys of painting outdoors in beautiful mid-coast Maine! This 5 day workshop will focus on capturing the essentials of the scene with mastery.  We'll leave each morning for our location by 9 am and wrap up around 4 pm.

Each day we'll paint 2-3 small paintings at a number of interesting sites within driving distance of Freeport - I will do 2 demo paintings each day (30-45 min), focusing on composition, light and values, mixing colors using a limited palette and how to achieve expressive brushwork.  I also focus on helping you develop your personal style.

Each artist will work on their own paintings after the demos, and I'll rotate to work with each artist throughout the morning and afternoon.  We'll work hard but have fun!

This is a three day workshop painting outdoors in the Freeport, Maine area. I will do a morning and an afternoon demo, each dealing with a different aspect of plein air painting.  Workshop participants will have lots of time to work on their own paintings, while I rotate to work with each artist on an individual basis. If the weather does not cooperate, we have plenty of room to paint in the studio. We will work hard, learn a lot and have fun!

$150 deposit is required to hold your place, and a materials list will be sent after I receive the deposit.
